swagger Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 was towing my caravan this weekend and pumped up the tyres to the recommended pressure of 45psi on the rear, now after a few miles the tyres get warm and heat up and so the pressure rises, the onboard computer said 49 psi, this is nearly 10% too high, do i put less in when the tyres are cold to compensate or is this 49psi ok Quote

big_kev Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Doesn't the Owners handbook say that tyre pressure should be 3 psi above recommended when towing a caravan. Therefore 48 psi would be the correct pressure.....near enough 49 don't know how accurate the tyre pressure monitor is. Quote
Richard gal Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 You only know is higher because of the monitor, its always been like that... on every car/van lorry etc etc.! Quote
